b. Menus

begining screen:new game- starts new game
		continue- continues old game
		credits- like the name says
		help???- actually does nothing

main menu screen:
scanning: SR scan-shows the short range screen
LR Scan- shows the galaxy map which is composed of cells containing 3 digits

	123

1-number of starts in that location
2-number to star dock in that location
3-number of enemy ships in that location

	if the cell contains
	???
then that means that you have not been to or near enough to that location to scan and generate a 3 digit code for that cell. This area is unknown as to what lies within.

	helm control:
Impulse- used to move within the SR scan grid, so you can go adjacent to docks, in a clear line to fire a torp, ect
warp- used to go to another area on the LR screen, to find enemy units, ect.

Battle stations: only works if enemy units are in the SR scanning grid
Phasers- energy based attack, these attacks use enery from the ship
which depletes the stores of enery available for another attack. You have a max amount of energy to fire, and the more distance betwen you and the target, the less damage the target takes. However, since this is a fast type of attack, you can fire at all the enemy ships before they return fire
torpedoes- you can only fire a limited number of these, depending on the number of tubes your ship has. You can only fire one volley before the enemy returns fire
energy-shields- transfer energy from the stores to your shields, this takes a turn and allows the enemy to fire
shields-energy- this takes energy out of your shields and puts in into the energy stores. This also takes a turn and the enemy can fire.

DOCK:only works if you are adjacent to a star dock. The menues that the docks give you are selfexplanatory. Each ship has a limited amount of each type of upgrade it can recieve.

Status report: Shows the current stats of your ship, your cash, your kills, the type of ships, your energy, sheilds, and torps.

Intel:allows you to see the carachteristics of the enemy vessels, which include the pirates, borg, romulans, and Borg.

Quit: three more options appear, all self explanatory.

that's about it. If you have any questions regarding gameplay, e-mail me at the adress at the top of this manual.
